Dr Mathew Wood was born and raised in West Virginia. After highschool he joined the Marine Corps, and after 5 years in the military, he was honorably discharged as a Sergeant. He started college at Northern Community College eventually transferring to West Liberty University. Dr Wood was accepted into the West Virginia School of Osteopathic medicine in 2002. After graduating he moved to Wheeling to start residency at Wheeling Hospital where he was voted chief resident. In 2009 after successfully completing his residency in family medicine, Dr Wood founded Wood Family Medicine.
